The Patrol Unit is considered to be the backbone of the Franklin County Sheriff's Office as it is not only the largest division within the Sheriff's Office, it is also the most visible. The Road Patrol function and crime prevention is the primary activity of our Uniformed Deputy Sheriff. Deputy Sheriff personnel answer calls for service, prevent and detect crime, protect life and property and apprehend offenders. The Patrol Unit is made up of four shifts. Each shift has one Lieutenant and one Sergeant along with the deputies. The responsibility of this unit is to serve, to protect, and to maintain a safe and orderly environment for the citizens and visitors in all areas of Franklin County. The Uniformed Patrol Unit provides law enforcement protection 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  When you need us we are here to help you and with your help the community we can all make a difference.
