Chief Deputy of Operations: Cliff Carroll

Chief Cliff Carroll serves as the second in command at our Sheriff's Office. Chief Carroll began his law enforcement career with Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in 1982 and held positions with Florida Marine Patrol and Wakulla County Sheriff's Office before returning to Franklin County in 2016. Chief Carroll aids the Sheriff in providing leadership to the staff and helps attain overall goals and objectives of the Sheriff's Office. The Chief is responsible for all the deputies, corrections, and dispatch, helping to ensure compliance with all legislative, judicial, and administrative policies, procedures, and laws for the safety of all Franklin County citizens. Chief Carroll’s favorite role in his job is being Santa for the children every year.

The Patrol Unit is considered to be the backbone of the Franklin County Sheriff's Office as it is not only the largest division within the Sheriff's Office, it is also the most visible. The Road Patrol function and crime prevention is the primary activity of our Uniformed Deputy Sheriff. Deputy Sheriff personnel answer calls for service, prevent and detect crime, protect life and property and apprehend offenders. The Patrol Unit is made up of four shifts. Each shift has one Lieutenant and one Sergeant along with the deputies. The responsibility of this unit is to serve, to protect, and to maintain a safe and orderly environment for the citizens and visitors in all areas of Franklin County. The Uniformed Patrol Unit provides law enforcement protection 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Captain of West Division: James Hamm

Responsible for any issues in the community concerning the West side of Franklin County. Currently, the Captain over the West District of Franklin County that includes Eastpoint, St George Island, and Apalachicola. He is the point of contact for law enforcement concerns as well as community presence by law enforcement.
Major of East Division: Brad Segree

Currently, the Captain over the West District of Franklin County that includes part of Eastpoint, Carrabelle, Lanark Village, and Alligator Point. He is the point of contact for law enforcement concerns as well as community presence by law enforcement.
