TEEN DRIVING CHALLENGE

Friday, May 20th 4PM to 9PM
Saturday, May 21st 9AM till Done

Price: Free

Class will be taught by our Traffic Enforcement Lieutenant Jim Ward and 3 other “entertaining” instructors. Dinner & Lunch will be provided. TDC students are required to have a Florida Learner’s Permit or a valid Florida Operator’s License and have use of an automobile they usually operate on Saturday. The class will consist of lecture and driving exercises. This class is completely free.

TO SIGN UP:
Complete below application & turn it in. We can notarize the application at the Sheriff’s Office when you come to turn it in.

*Space is limited so a completed application will be required to count as completed registration.*

TDC students are required to have a Florida Learner’s Permit or a valid Florida Operator’s License and have use of an automobile they usually operate during the driving exercises. The class will consist of lecture and driving exercises. Please note: the Teen Driver Challenge is not a supplemental or advanced driving course, it is a defensive driving program that covers various topics including:

  • Teen crash facts
  • Knowing your vehicle
  • Using your senses
  • Vehicle dynamics
  • Drug and alcohol use
  • Aggressive driving and road rage
  • Figure 8
  • Threshold/Emergency Braking
  • Backing
  • Cornering
  • Forward and reverse serpentine
  • Off road recovery
  • Evasive maneuvers
  • Skid control
